 For the best bio-availability and if you have a sensitive stomach, it is often recommended that you take Grape seed extract in a quality liquid supplement. You can take Grape seed extract with or without food.

What should the dosage be? Lengths of administration are usually based on the severity of the symptoms and the type of problem.

Typically 20mg for every 20lbs body weight or 75 to 300mg daily for 3 weeks reducing to a 40 to 80mg daily maintenance dose.

Grape seed extract has gained in popularity over the years. It has been studied since the early 80's for its free radical scavenging effect and it's ability to inhibit histamine. This free radical scavenging effect has demonstrated itself to be 20 times more potent than either vitamin C or vitamin E.

Therapeutic benefits have been shown to be dose dependent. Its usage is considered safe for conception, and pregnancy.

Properly prepared Grape Seed Extract Proanthocyanidin has been said to yield a 95 % concentration of the Oligomeric Proanthocyanidin Complexes (OPCs).

What are the actions that have been associated with the herb?

Grape seed extract is thought to neutralize free radicals (anti-oxidant), reduce inflammation, stabilize collagen and elastin, act as a natural antihistamine, and protect and heal connective tissue.

It acts against oxidative stress and tissue damage and has demonstrated itself to offer better protection than either vitamins C or E. It's anti-inflammatory action is thought to be derived from it's ability to inhibit the release of histamines and prostaglandin.
